The Eli Chatfield Award for Mateship 2025

Today, at Batemans Bay High School’s Year 12 Graduation Assembly, Tremayne Chatfield proudly presented the Eli Chatfield Award for Mateship. This special annual award was created in honour of Eli, celebrating the qualities of kindness, loyalty, and friendship that made him such a valued mate to so many.

Now in its third year, the award is presented in partnership with Batemans Bay High School and is sponsored by Eli’s family. Each year it recognises an outgoing Year 12 student who embodies the same spirit of mateship that Eli carried with him every day.

This year’s recipient was Brittany Morris, a student who has worked tirelessly throughout her schooling while remaining bright, cheerful, and kind to everyone she meets. Known as a loyal friend to all, Brittany is a truly deserving winner of the award.

As always, Tremayne presented the award in honour of his little brother, continuing Eli’s legacy at his former school. Congratulations to Brittany on this well-earned recognition — we know she will carry Eli’s spirit of kindness and loyalty forward into her next chapter.
